Data Contributions

Contributing to UnityUK is free. You do not have to subscribe to UnityUK to make your holdings available through the service. More than 300 UK libraries are currently contributing to the service. The history of The Combined Regions’ Unity service is as a physical union catalogue with contributors providing their holdings through regular catalogue updates. With UnityUK, we offer an alternative approach, bringing together the models of physical and virtual union catalogues in one place.

Libraries can contribute by:

  1. Providing full bibliograhic record upload with added library holdings
  2. Providing library holdings notification
  3. Enabling access to their catalogue via Z39.50.

If you wish to contribute to UnityUK or have further queries on data contributions then please contact Russ Hunt at OCLC.

If you are already a UnityUK subscriber and wish to see a list of the latest data contributions then please visit the 'Contributing Data' section of the UnityUK Members Area website.

Latest Developments

Talis have released a new script that allows UnityUK users to export a full data extract followed by incremental data updates in OCLC's notify format from Talis library systems.
Please contact Talis for further details and assistance.
